VGI-Promatec also knows its way around the bread industry. We developed a handling, buffer and conveyor system to cool loaves of bread after the baking process. This system places the loaves in a bread carrier we developed ourselves, after which the whole unit is transported to a cooler via a stainless steel shuttle. The shuttle transfers the bread carriers to and from the cooler fully automatically. After cooling, the bread carriers are buffered on shuttle and chain conveyor belts, before they are unloaded by the extraction robot. The system has a fully stainless steel and wash-down finish.

Crate Handling
Washed lettuce are transferred within the factory in crates. The filled crates are entered into one of four elevators. The elevators transfer the crates to a machine platform, during which the crates are separated during output. Once individually separated, the crates are emptied by a crate tipper. After tipping, the empty crates are transferred to the crate washer via conveyors and transfer stations. A C-feeder has been installed just before the crate washer to ensure crates arrive at the crate washer upside down in a controlled manner. VGI-Promatec was responsible for the engineering, construction and completion of this installation in its entirety.
